Wide angle lens for E400?

Hi. Can you recommend a wide angle lens for the E400? Does Sigma, for example,

make one? I'm not so technical about specifications; I'm looking for something

wide for landscapes. Thanks.

How wide do you need? The Olympus 11-22mm would be a good option I think, or you could go for the Olympus 7-14mm if you have a need for extreme wide angle. You can find a list of lenses for the 4/3 system here: http://www.wrotniak.net/photo/oly-e/lenses.html

The Oly ZD 11-22 is as wide as I've needed and a superb performer.

From what I understand about wide angles... once you go below around 10mm you have to spend a lot of money for really good glass if you want really good pics.

 

Also from what I understand, Sigma's are pretty much economy models.

Sigma has just announced that they're making their 10-20mm available in 4/3 mount. Depending on where you live and what you need it for, it may be a cheaper alternative to the 11-22.

I believe the Sigma is a bit slower than the Zuiko 11-22, but it does have a pretty good reputation.

 

If you are looking for a lens whose size is complimentary to the E400, in that case, you may be a bit disappointed. These lenses, while not huge, do look big in relationship to that tiny body.

With regard to the kit lens (14-42) that came with my new E410, I read several reviews that gave it high marks but my experience is that it isn't at all as good as what I have read/seen examples of (rather soft at f/3.5 on the wide end and not improving much at smaller apertures) so I am looking to the 11-22 as a better alternate. Godfrey's recommendation of the 11-22, to me, means a lot. I have followed his recommendations for the Pentax line of DA lenses and was never disappointed. Thanks Godfrey!
