r._k.2
I'm looking for an Undergraduate program in France. I came upon the Ecole Nationale Superieure de la Photographie, in Arles. Is this a Graduate school? Or is it Undergraduate? I read the site, but I'm still not sure. If anyone knows about this school, or reads french, could you please tell me? http://www.ensp-arles.com/ Also, can anyone recommend Photo programs in France (Universities, Art colleges, etc.)? The better if they are prestigious. And anywhere but Paris (preferrably anywhere below the middle of France). Of course, if anyone has real live experience, and is in a good place to offer tips, I'd be grateful.
gerrymorgan
It's an undergraduate programme with a competitive entrance exam. According to this page, in order to qualify to take the entrance exam, you need to have a two-year foundation course at a French university, two years of art school in France, or some other experience that the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie recognizes as equivalent. You also have to be age 30 or less. I think the barrier to entry for you might be that to take the entrance exam, you'd need a good command of French. lutz
Why would you want to study photography in France if you don't read French? While I cannot comment on the quality of courses at the ENSP in Arles, I can wholeheartedly recommend going to Arles in summer and attend one or more classes organized in collaboration between the ENSP and the Rencontres de la Photographie which take place every July/August. Full immersion into exhibitions and practice with a wide choice of most inspiring teachers. I attended courses for three summers in a row. Here's a link. Get in touch with Fabrice there. He's a graduate of the ENSP, BTW.
