I have a 4GB hitachi microdrive and I just used it yesterday, now today, I

switch on my camera and "card error".......not even my card reader on my

computer will read it, anyone know what, why, or how? its about a year and a

half old.....can it be rescued or should I start playing "taps"?

The early Hitachi MDs were some of the most unreliable drives I've ever seen. I've seen drives go straight from the wrapper to being sent back to the manufacturer. I don't want to sound so negative but if you haven't already tried to format it cross your fingers and give it a go otherwise you may be out of luck. On the bright side a new solid state flash card should only cost about 50 bucks and should be a thousand fold times more reliable.
