tara_ratliff
Two people suggested for the me the Mamiya rz67 or the hasselblad vs Mamiya 7. I have a hasselblad, but wanted a medium format that didn't do square. How much bigger is the Mamiya rz67 vs the Hasselblad 503? trr
derek_stanton2
All the specs are here: http://www.mamiya.com/rz67-pro-iid.html#Specifications But, you really need to see and touch one in person to get a sense of the size/weight and how it feels. Just knowing how many millimeters longer than a Hassy it is really won't tell you what you need to know.
dave_wilson1
I will probably get chilled for this, but I see no reason for such a move. The HB 50fle, 100 and 180 cropped will make any image you desire without any comprimise. Your Hasselblad is a sound investment, building you lens and accessory collection would be a better move, but ultimately your choice. Just my humble opinion:)
Vlad Soare
The RZ is big. Really big. And heavy. My RB67 with 90mm K/L, waist-level finder and film back weighs 3.045 kg. A RZ67 is, I believe, a little bit lighter due to some plastic parts. Perhaps 100-200 grams less.<br> That's not necessarily a bad thing. I like big and heavy cameras, and I definitely love my RB. I even use it handheld from time to time. But it IS really big. :-)
steve_parrott
I would LOVE to see some "scale" photos of the RB / RZ67 camera as compared to say, the Mamiya 645 which I have, or even a typical 35mm SLR or digital SLR. By that I mean, some photos of the RZ sitting beside another camera. I have often considered buying a RZ, but have never seen one in person. Photos of the camera by itself give no indication of the relative size of it compared to the above mentioned cameras. Would someone be kind enough to post some size comparison photos of this type? Thanks! Steve
Vlad Soare
I don't have a 645 or a Hasselblad, but I'll try to show my RB67 with a 90mm lens next to two other cameras of mine. The first one is a Flexaret, a rather compact TLR. The second one is an EOS 1V with a power booster, which is one of the biggest 35mm SLRs available. The EOS is shown with a 50mm f/1.4 lens.<br> I hope it helps. Admittedly, it's an RB, not RZ, but they're approximately the same size anyway.<br><br> <a href="http://img341.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img2096micnx3.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/1585/img2096micnx3.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a> <a href="http://img239.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img2100mices9.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/2214/img2100mices9.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a> <a href="http://img152.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img2930micpe7.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1944/img2930micpe7.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a> <a href="http://img219.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img2931micka2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/1659/img2931micka2.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>
steve_parrott
Fantastic... thank you so very much Vlad. That is just what I wanted to see. I have a Canon 1Ds, (EOS 1V body based), so that is an excellant example for me. Yep, the RB is larger than I was visualizing it.
tara_ratliff
That really doesn't seem that big though, compared to my hasselblad and I handhold that just fine. I saw some kind of Mamiya at a camera store, don't remember what kind, but that thing was twice the size of my Hasselblad.
