r.t. dowling
And here's my Himalayan cat, Euphemia -- A.K.A. Feema.<div></div>
rose_duclos
not knocking ferrets - but, being how they were originally intended to be outdoor creatures - they have quite a smell to them. I had a roommate once (back before I had more than one cat) - and she had 8 ferrets. She claimed she couldn't smell them... We weren't roommates for long. I lasted 8 weeks, then I moved out. It wasn't the ferrets - she was quite a character.

r.t. dowling
Feema thanks you for the compliment, Rose! She's in my lap right now, purring up a storm. She's been very under the weather lately... the vet gave two possible diagnoses: severe inner ear infection, or brain tumor. I'm hoping and praying that it's just an infection. Here's one more shot of my little girl.<div></div>
r.t. dowling
Gosh... Mr. Mackee is gonna think photo.net doesn't like him, since they refuse to show his pictures without hiding them behind a link!
a few images
I just got a lesson in how to fix that RT, the max size for either dimension is 511 pixels..
rose_duclos
Poor feema! I hope she'll be ok. Both pictures you've posted of her, thus far - seem to say "I know I'm beautiful - yes, of course you can take my picture." If you make sure that the width of the pics are under 511 - you should be able to post without having a link showing.
r.t. dowling
Good to know! I've been using this site since 2001... you'd think I'd know that by now. ;-)
r.t. dowling
OK, one more... just to make sure I've figured out this 511px business... ;-)<div></div>
rose_duclos
I'm gathering that Mr Mackee is the boss? (since he's on higher ground, and all) I'm surprised that you're shooting with such high ISO. Are you sitting in the dark?
r.t. dowling
Yes, it was nighttime and I was in my kitchen, with only a 40-watt incandescent light bulb and a 10-watt fluorescent lamp for illumination. Plus, the kit lens is pretty slow. Even with SR on, you can still see a little bit of hand shake. But all in all, I was impressed with the results... a lot better than I ever got with ISO 1600 or 3200 film!
rose_duclos
It's a good shot - I was just surprised at the high iso - it was no insult to how the picture looks. I think it turned out well - a little grainy, but definitely not what I'd expect from such a high ISO.
mc2imaging
You are doing better than I with that vertical. It is more than 700 pixels tall. Perhaps my taller vertical images had just been rejected due to file size, not pixel dimension. B&W probably helps that some... Are you guys gonna make me dig out my ferret pix? I had one named Bellete that just LOVED to pose for the camera... Smell is only a problem if you have males or you haven't had your females desented. Even after desenting, males need frequent baths. After my one and only male died, my friends would come over and ask if we had gotten rid of the other ferret, because there was no 'ferrety' smell in the house anymore. We specifically bought all neutered and desented FEMALES because we didn't want the smell, but we were uneducated on the anatomy of ferrets and the shop owner told us he was a she. The vet straightened us out later...
rose_duclos
Matt, if someone can post a pig, I'm sure we'll let you post a ferret. I didn't realize that only males smell - If I remember correctly, she had 6 males. No wonder I had problems going home every night...
rose_duclos
Matt, as to the 700 pixels tall showing - as long as the width is 511 and under - it seems to accept any height here.
mc2imaging
I've got my hands too full to dig the pix up right now. I'm already doing 1.5 things I tell my students never to do: I am eating, typing and processing a roll of Tech Pan. Fortunately, I do not taste a Techidol Sauce on my pastrami... I have had images that were less than 511 wide, but still got dropped to a link. I think there is also a file size restriction (kbytes). If I keep them less than 510 both ways and JPEG compression is set to '8' I have no problems. Over that is hit and miss...
rose_duclos
If it gets dropped, when the width is 511 or less - that may be because it did not have a caption below it. You shoot film? and develop? That's so cool, matt! :)
rose_duclos
I'm guarding an item on ebay right now - 10 minutes to go - I dont' want to bid to early - I'm becoming nervous - I want the camera - really want it - but, I don't want to bid and find myself outbid on it... nor do I want to not get a good bargain... the nervous tension - I don't know how Hin does it. :)

mountainvisions
Way too many, maybe next time narrow it down to just digitals, then I'd only have 1000 shots to choose from. The dog is my most reliable hiking partner, and at times my mountain guide. Like this morning he was a pain in the ass, sprinting back down the mountain, letting out a gentle whimper, turning hard back up hill glancing back then sprinting ahead. And despite one of the very ferocious dog-cat brawl photos, those two are actually best friends. I yell at one the other is mad at me. They play well together, and sleep together. <P> Without looking at the data, most of these were shot on pentax SLR/DSLR/digi compact. Some are old scans of prints but now that I got my HP G4050 that can scan 30 negatives with IR dust and scratch removal at a time I will slowly catch up on 10 years of film scanning lag. <P> <a title="Hear me RRRROOOOAAAAR!!!!" href=" ><img src="http://static.flickr.com/130/370300186_09e1feff58_d.jpg" border="0"/></a> <P> <img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r21/pico23_23/pitchoff.gif" border="0"/> <P> <a title="Katz Eye" href=" ><img src="http://static.flickr.com/136/370299914_15c347cafe_d.jpg" border="0"/></a> <P> <a title="McKees Half Falls Group Shot" href=" ><img src="http://static.flickr.com/1062/541818469_c67d913f1d_d.jpg" border="0"/></a> <P> <a title="Paddle and Portage: 2007 ADK Lake Traverse" href=" ><img src="http://static.flickr.com/1247/1369962382_f18cc2b929_d.jpg" border="0"/></a> <P> <a title="In The Mountains of NH, Men are made." href=" ><img src="http://static.flickr.com/142/379807150_acf4c1c8d9_d.jpg" border="0"/></a> <P> <img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r21/pico23_23/Caney/Caney-Aim-Cascade.jpg" border="0"/> <P> <img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r21/pico23_23/Caney/caney-aim-couch.jpg" border="0"/> <P> <img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r21/pico23_23/Caney/caney-heather-sleeping-2003.jpg" border="0"/> <P> <img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r21/pico23_23/Caney/Gothics-May-2006-44.jpg" border="0"/> <P> <a title="Contemplation...Portrait of a Border Collie" href=" ><img src="http://static.flickr.com/186/376242257_5100de9800_d.jpg" border="0"/></a> <P> <a title="In The Mountains of NH, Men are made." href=" ><img src="http://static.flickr.com/136/379803157_7082c6d335_d.jpg" border="0"/></a> <P> <a title="Butter Fly In The Sky, Take A Look It's In A Book, Reading Rainbow..." href=" ><img src="http://static.flickr.com/171/383370979_eee9d402b3_d.jpg" border="0"/></a> <P> <a title="Fall In The Daks" href=" ><img src="http://static.flickr.com/210/466346439_80ea32b9b6_d.jpg" border="0"/></a> <P> <a title="Caney on Summit of Hunter Mountain" href=" ><img src="http://static.flickr.com/145/402638803_daf45d6be0_d.jpg" border="0"/></a> <P> <a title="Old Man River Dog" href="http://flickr.com/photos/65793193@N00/541812661" ><img src="http://static.flickr.com/1110/541812661_a0da555a95_d.jpg" border="0"/></a> <P> <a title="No Horse Play In The House!!!!" href="http://flickr.com/photos/65793193@N00/402611003" ><img src="http://static.flickr.com/161/402611003_6188c708bc_d.jpg" border="0"/></a> <P> <img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r21/pico23_23/Caney/Isolation-07.jpg" border="0"/> <P> <img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r21/pico23_23/Caney/Gothics-May-2006-13.jpg" border="0"/> <P> <img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r21/pico23_23/Caney/DevilsPath-May-2006-11.jpg" border="0"/> <P> <img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r21/pico23_23/Caney/caney22.jpg" border="0"/> <P> <img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r21/pico23_23/Caney/caney2.jpg" border="0"/> <P> <img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r21/pico23_23/Caney/caney-lake_isabel-indian_pe.jpg" border="0"/> <P> <img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r21/pico23_23/Caney/Caney.jpg" border="0"/> <P> <img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r21/pico23_23/Caney/caney-mossycascade-gorge-adk-april-.jpg" border="0"/> <P> <img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r21/pico23_23/Caney/100_8200-web_resize.jpg" border="0"/> <P><img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r21/pico23_23/Caney/Caney-BigSlide.jpg" border="0"/> <P> <img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r21/pico23_23/Caney/Giant-Mont-2006-03.jpg" border="0"/> <P> Actually neither taken by me, nor a Pentax camera, but I love the shot! <BR> <a title="Get Outa My Lap Dawg" href="http://flickr.com/photos/65793193@N00/1795475329" ><img src="http://static.flickr.com/2198/1795475329_dbabf6aac7_d.jpg" border="0"/></a> <P> <a title="Paddle and Portage: 2007 ADK Lake Traverse" href="http://flickr.com/photos/65793193@N00/1369969972" ><img src="http://static.flickr.com/1187/1369969972_276e548cd5_d.jpg" border="0"/></a> <P> <a title="October in The Adirondacks" href="http://flickr.com/photos/65793193@N00/380121802" ><img src="http://static.flickr.com/179/380121802_1ae91652b9_d.jpg" border="0"/></a> <P> <img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r21/pico23_23/Caney/CaneyRackingUpOnBlackFly.jpg" border="0"/> <P> <a title="Merry Christmas From The Christmas Collie" href="http://flickr.com/photos/65793193@N00/2134463933" ><img src="http://static.flickr.com/2006/2134463933_140156e69d_d.jpg" border="0"/></a>
markus maurer
Now the dogs get most of the attention, cat lovers let's see some more. And Rose, Willi is "only" a minipig.<div></div>
rose_duclos
Awesome photos, Justin. :) Your dog is really something special. And, the pictures go to show how happy he is - you all are. ;) I didn't think the cat/dog fight photo looked very frightening - more playful. :) If a cat wants to do damage, it wouldn't lie on the ground like that. rose_duclos
mini pig? ... is he a pet? or dinner? :) Why did you name a cat after a demon? He doesn't look especially evil.
