zeiss lenses for Nikon

Can one use a zeiss lens (contax/yashica mount) on Nikon digital cameras? Are

those new zeiss lense for Nikon F designed in Germany? I know they are made in

Japan but I hear Zeiss did the design and let them made in Japan. True?

They are made in Japan by Cosina for Zeiss.

I think if you put the word 'Planar' or 'Sonnar' on a lens, it means it's the Planar or Sonnar optical design. I have no doubt that these lenses perform as well as any other Zeiss out there, and they have T* coatings. The only thing I don't like about them is that they are too expensive for me! At least I can buy a near mint second-hand Nikkor 50mm f1.4 AIS lens for less than $200. Try that with a Zeiss!

Unfortunately you cannot use a Zeiss lens with a Contax/Yashica mount on any Nikon camera. You can obtain an adapter that allows these lenses to mount on some Canon digitals.

You may think about the new series of F_mount lenses? I am not certain if anybody here knows much more about it than the producer does - so why not look there?

I don't think you can use the old contax lenses on the F cameras. The distance from the lens mount to the film plane is critical and it will not work. The new ZF lenses are awesome and I would like to have a handful of them. Check out the depth of field on these photos with the 100ZF.
