Wimberley C30 QR clamp with A/S Z1

I plan to order an A/S Z1 ballhead. I ALREADY have a Wimberley C30 QR clamp.

 

STRICTLY from a functional standpont (cost-savings aside), is there any

advantage to using the C30 versus the typical A/S QR clamp that is sold with

the Z1 (single pan)? Is the longer C30 a plus? I don't mind buying the extra

clamp, but if the longer C30 is a plus, then I might as well use it.

 

I don't see any DISadvantages to using the C30. Does anyone?

 

Heaviest lens to be used is a 300mm/4 AFS (with a Kirk collar) and TC-17e.

The longer clamp is an advantage if you have long plates, but for your gear it probably won't make a difference. The only disadvantage I can think of is if the long clamp got in the way of something, but I think that is stretching (no pun intended).
