marguerite_gioia_insolia
I love my iPHOTO and if it could handle thousands of raw images I would stick with it. I have tried MediaPro and have Light Room now. MediaPro was way too confusing for my non computer savvy mind and LR is really slow since I have an external drive and also has some other problems. Does anyone know of a good reliable but somewhat simple Mac software? I'm on my way to becoming a professional photographer and use Photoshop for editing so I really only want to use the software for importing images and organizing them. Thanks so much! robert_brake1
When you say you are using Photoshop, are you using Photoshop Elements or the full Photoshop in Creative Suite. CS has Bridge included and is a great organizer.
christopher hartt dallas
What kind of MAC do you have? I use Lightroom on our MAC Pro desktops (dual quad core, 16Gb RAM) and there are no problems at all. Do you have enough RAM and processor capability to run LR? godfrey
Bridge is not an organizer. If you're having problems with Lightroom, it is almost certainly due to your configuration rather than the application. I use Lightroom every day to process hundreds of images, in conjunction with Photoshop CS2, using a Power Mac G5 DP 2Ghz. It would be faster on the Mac Pro, but it's not slow in this configuration either. Be sure you have 2 G of RAM and plenty of disk space. scott_burns3
Have you looked at Qpict? It might meet your needs. They offer a free trial download. Here's a link: http://www.qpict.com/

marguerite_gioia_insolia
The thing is that I'm using a external hard drive for my photos because I didn't want my computer to get too clogged up. I have plenty of gigs in the hard drive and my Mac is a Powerbook G4. What kinds of changed should I make in my LR configuration?
