asimrazakhan
Is the digital 645 already nailed shut in a coffin or is there still some hope? And whatever happened to the idea of having a digital insert that could go into a Pentax 645NII?
ellis_vener_photography
The digital Pentax 645 was officially scrapped about six months to a year ago. It was not economically feasible.
john_gleason1
"The digital Pentax 645 was officially scrapped about six months to a year ago." Well, there was this thread about 6 months ago, in response to an item at Luminous Landscape. But, some doubt remained at that time: http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00L6TR
tony_cunningham
When looking at my local camera shop website I came across the following: Pentax 645 digital Curiously is is placed in DSLRs rather that medium format digital. At first I thought it might be old but 30 MP, I'm not so sure!
graham_mitchell
I seem to remember that Pentax announced it was dropping out of medium format altogether to concentrate on the consumer DSLRs.
tony_cunningham
This is from Feb 2007. So perhaps? Pentax 645 digital
yuri_huta
Aparently, we were very close to seeing the Pentax 645D, although the merger with Hoya put that project on the backburner. However, it looks like it is not dead. Read the last portion of the article (Pentax Manager for Imaging in Europe). http://www.bjp-online.com/public/showPage.html?page=689112
