frankie_frank1
See http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00NGDV, Do you think "Ken Papai - Marin County, Calif" is correct? I doubt it.
yakim_peled1
Of course he is right. Any beer aficionado will say so.... :-) Or is it that the beauty is in the eyes of the beer holder.... :-) Sorry, couldn't resist. Happy shooting, Yakim. brucecyr
I don't know if he's "correct" or off-the-map, being a Californian displaced from Texas:-) Why are you asking this here instead of the original thread? And, just to justify this topic, what do you think is the "correct" take on things?
marknagel
Yes, he's right, why the doubt? m
beauh44
I'm not sure I understand the doubt either... Looks right to me.

frankie_frank1
I always thought that 50% crop is like a zoom-out while 200% crop is like a zoom-in. I guess I need to drink more beer.
roger_smith4
A 50% crop is only a zoom out if you're starting from 100%. Take 5 minutes to play with the magnifying class tool in photoshop and you'll get it soon.
mendel_leisk
Frankie, If Yakim had posted one more picture: the full image, not downsampled, maybe it will all become clear. You should then see that the 50% posting is indeed 50% smaller, and so on. You really should have responded in the original thread. Responding via a new thread like this tends to put people off. PuppyDigs
I'm not put off. But, yeah, Ken is correct. Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see. - Robert Hunter
KenPapai
I learned about crops in 3rd grade, and have forgotton more about photo image crops just since last night than I think Frankie will learn in his/her lifetime! ;) I don't doubt that at all. mendel_leisk
Woops, see it was Ken Papai that posted all the mouth watering examples. Anyway, hope this goes away soon ;)
William Michael
Well I have spent the last several hours reading over 3000 of Ken Papai`s posts. Apart from one slight error of omission in this thread: http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00D11U (Where he also should have suggested a better main zoom lens and a second 580EX), - should we debate that too :) All his posts other posts are absolutely 100% accurate. Also I agree with his `cropping maths` in the thread mentioned. And admire his exploration of World Beers.
