brooks_lester
I know folks say they're both "usable", the tamron from 14-18mm and the Tokina from 19-24mm. But, how do they both compare to a FF lens at these focal lengths? I'd love to get either lens for my D50 and also get usage on my N80. I'm actually more interested in the Tokina because I envision using the 19- 24mm range more than the Tamron's FF 14-18mm coverage. I don't want to have to buy an 18-35mm for my N80 if either of these super wides can do double duty for me. TIA
andre_reinders
I have the Tokina 12-24 - the vignetting happens at about 19mm, leaving you with a 19-24mm lens. I am not sure what else you mean by useable?
tommyna
I have the Tokina 12-24 and use it on my D70s. I also have the N80 and when I attached the Tokina, the vignetting appears on 12-18mm and no vignetting on 19-24mm.
Peter_in_PA
The Tamron is just about the cheapest-feeling lens I have every laid hands on.
eric_arnold
hi brooks, i have the tokina and use it on a d80. love it! but if i was using a film camera, i'd think about getting the sigma 12-24. HTH
