mfpow
Hi, I have about 600 raw images saved on my computer, they were shot on a nikon D200 and are in NEF format, i need them to be converted to jpeg. I am currently using photoshop 7.0, but will have CS3 by this weekend. I understand I cannot batch process convert these raw images to jpeg using pshop 7.0, but once using CS3, can I batch process and convert these 600 raw images to jpeg using CS3 alone, or do i need a batch converter, such as bibble? Thank for any information! Matt
pulpmojo
photoshop CS2 comes bundled with Bridge, which is a RAW image processor and organizer among other things. I would imagine CS3 would come with it as well. so no, you shouldn't need a seperate program.
david_myers2
But, my experience (limited) is that Bridge in CS2 will not open a NEF file created from the D80. David
ronald_moravec1
http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/video_workshop/ The above tells you all about CS3. http://av.adobe.com/russellbrown/CS2CameraRAWSM.mov This tells you how to do it all with raw. CS3 converter is the same Look up Russel Brown show and there a hundred tutorials that tell you ow to do almost anything. In a nut shell you open them all in raw, make the conversion settings, and use synchronise to do them all at once.
KenPapai
Why the D80 red herring? To answer correctly, yes, CS3 can trivially save all 600 of your D200 NEF raw files into JPG. It has the action already built into Bridge and PS. No need to imagine or make up stuff.
don_cooper
Nikon View (free)will directly convert NEF files to JPG's through a batch process.
robert_martin5
Third party RAW converters will not use the in camera settings, only software from the camera manufacturer will use these setting - this is not unique for Nikon. The default values in Photoshop will probably not match you JPG's from the camera, so be prepared to adjust these to your liking before processing.
