Fountain pen looking signature?

Im trying to do a signature that looks as if it has been done with a fountain

pen-- anybody have a method or general set of presets for something like this?

 

I have been experimenting with a wacom tablet, and PS CS3, but nothing is even

close to the look of an ink signature--

 

Any thoughts at all would be greatly appreciated...

Write it on white paper, scan it in, then manipulate the scan and put it on a different layer with multiply blend.

You could try using Corel Painter if you have it ( or there's a free trial at corel.com). It creates painterly effects with various tools and pens, and does a very nice job mimicking all types of art media. You could create your signature there and export it to Photoshop. Just a thought...

You can do it with Photoshop, but you need to enable nib pressure in the brush settings.

I took an ink fountain pen with a wide tip and signed my name a bunch of times on textured white paper. Took a digital photo, chose my favorite then moved it into PS where I produced a black signature on white, a black signature on transparent, and a white signature on black. I highlighted all parts of the signature with the magic wand tool and copy & pasted onto the various backgrounds. (The transparent background needs to be saved as a .psd document for transparent pasteing)
