chr15w
I have always used Rawshhoter and still believe its the fastest and best converter, however I have processed my most recent wedding (900 images) using Lightroom as I know if I change cameras I will have to change.I found Lightroom to be very good but with RSP I could copy the .RW file which contains all parameters for each conversion onto a dvd so that I can archive all settings usedHow can I archive the settings that Lightroom uses? as there is no "side"file that I can seeAny advice much appreciated
seland
Yes. With Ctrl+S you save a sidecar file (.XMP) with the raw-file, including Lightroom settings and metadata (EXIF, keywords etc).
robert_martin5
I use Adobe Photoshop CS3 RAW converter (same converter as Lightroom) and you can set the preferences so it saves a sidecar (XMP file) automatically. I think Lightroom will work the same. If you convert your RAW files to DNG files it will save the settings in the DNG file. The only problem with DNG files is they limit what software you can use to process the RAW files, otherwise I think they are great.
