pancolart
Hi! Would you please help me identify this old gem i recently acquired: it's different from all models i found on net. Especially by the way counter is constructed on top (i draw an arrow where) and by the shutter max speed of 1/300, where others mostly have 1/250. So in a way one thing is worst and other better then Welti 1c for instance. Thank you in advance, Jure Dolzan<div></div>
gene m
I think it's a 1935 Welti since it has no accessory shoe. Does it say "Welta" on the rewind knob ?
pancolart
Thank's Gene. Can this model be categorized or the year of manufacture defines model? It does have Welti on rewind. Please have a look at another photo. BR, Jure<div></div>
winfried_buechsenschuetz1
A long time ago I found a list of Zeiss pre-war lens s/n on the web - but I do not have a link. With the s/n of your Tessar lens evaluating the manufacturing date should be easy. Maybe the Zeiss archive can help you.
pancolart
Hi Winfried. Thanks for assistance. I am trying to define an exact model not just year of manufacture. BR, Jure<div></div>
gene m
It's the first version of The Welti. In 1936 the camera had an accessory shoe.
pancolart
Thank's Gene. I found one similar here https://www.ritzcam.com/catalog/index.php but it already has accessory shoe, so i guess mine is really early. The photo is from that page.<div></div>
peter_parler1
Hi! I've got a Welti (Tessar lens number is 155xxxx, it's also produced in 1934) WITH accessory shoe. So maybe yours is one of the last Welti cameras without that shoe and the viewfinder in the middle of the top. The shortest time of 1/300 is nothing special. All Compur shutters in this size at this time have the 1/300 sec. Regards, Peter.
