Reputable camera repairman/woman

Sometime ago through this forum I tried to find a good reputable camera

repairman/woman for my Yashica-Mat in the region Europe as alternative to the

almost retired mr. Lakesuwa a.k.a. Mark - Yashica - Hama himself, but no one

came forward with reliable names.

Of course famous reputable names such as Harry Fleenor or Mark Hama among

others have given 101% assurance of good camera repair work, but I refuse to

believe that there are no other alternatives to these names for Europe, Asia or

Australia. Not everyone outside the US would want to complicate their lives

with official paperwork needed for the custom when sending their cameras for

CLA/overhaul after all.

This made me think about listing some good, reputable camera service/repair

persons all over the world based on personal experiences only but

without making this into business advertisement platform. Just simple and plain

information exchange between camera users which can be useful for others that

need some reliable addresses to have their cameras repaired or serviced.

My recent experience with Jürgen Kuschnik, a Rollei repairman based in

Germany, was very satisfying. Being a mechanic of Franke and Heidecke in the

past he works clean and knows what he's doing. My Rolleiflex, which has always

been working nicely, came back in about ten days as new after periodically

overhauled by him. All the mechanical parts are very very smooth now and

I begin to suspect it will survive me, being in my fifties now, the next 30-40

years or so. And that all for a reasonable price. I surely will recommend Jürgen Kuschnik when

it comes to overhauling TLR Rolleiflex, although he does other mechanical

camera brands as well.

Curious about your own - good - personal experience with your local

repairman/woman.

I've used Jürgen too - when he was in California! He moved back to Germany about a year ago. He is THE guy for the SL66 cameras. I normally repair my own cameras but I wasn't taking any chances with my SL66, and he is one of the few people that has spare parts on hand.
