Everything looks fine but the iris does not open completely at f/2 (see pix attached). Is that normal? The iris does open at each f/number, i. e. f/2.8 is actually smaller than f/2, etc. But f/2 is not full open. Anyone who owns this lens can give me advice? If you have the lens set to defocus at f4 and the lens at f2, it may not look right. The lens has a little pin that controls the shutter iris -- does that work freely? michael_bradtke Posted September 28, 2007 Share Posted September 28, 2007 There is something wrong with that lens. On mine at f/2 you can not see any of the iris. On yours it looks like you are at f/2.8 or so. Talk to the people you got it from. You either want it fixed or you should ask for a refund. BTW I think its a great lens. Contacted them immediately, as soon as I received the package (it's an eBay auction: they're in Germany. I am in Italy). No answer yet. They've been very responsive before. Hope they'll go on the same track... The pin controlling the iris works freely. It gets down to the end... Maybe there is something bent inside or God knows what. The iris does close at each f/stop. BUT it doesn't get fully open. Now imagine that I got this lens to use it *only* at f/2...! I really hope the seller will stand behind this faulty lens by covering the fixing expenses... Damn, this has to complete my semi-long wide-open shooting series (85 1.4 and 180 2.8; yes, I know I should get a 200 f/2... one day...;-) and I have to shoot tomorrow... and the OOF lights do show the blades instead of the pure round...
