kali goddess
I've noticed some contests and magazines require that the image you submit be "unpublished." Is an online post considered to be "published?" As in, if I post an image in my photo.net gallery or a personal blog, does that count as being "published?" Just wondering.... Thanks! craig_shearman1
A personal web site, or blog, or on Photonet, Flickr, etc, may constitute "published" for copyright or other legal purposes but does not constitute published for the purposes of most contests. Published for their purposes means in a newspaper or magazine, espeically a competing newspaper or magazine. Posting on a commercial web site might cross the line: If you had a photo that had appeared on Popular Photography's web site, Shutterbug probably wouldn't want it in their contest regardless of whether it had ever been in the print version of Pop, and vice versa. BTW, be sure to see my monthly photo contest "scores" at www.nikonvscanon.com.
