butch_welch
Other than the storage method, is there any other difference? Is there any difference in the actual files from these two digital backs?
jeff.grant
AFAIK, same sensor, different electronics inside and the same Flexcolor processing the files. The V96C has had firmware upgrades along the way. My understanding is that they are the same as far as images go.
ilkka
Another difference is that the CFV most of the time does not need a sync cable, and it looks like it was made to fit Hasselblad, not like some strange-looking add on.
steve_hendrix
Very likely the same sensor - both being 16MP. The CFV utilizes the OLED screen which is head and shoulders better than the LCD screen of the V96C. Much brighter and viewable at any angle. The interface controls of the back itself are improved and enhanced in their simplicity and functionality. More white balance choices are available. Histogram, shooting data, etc. are all more easily accessed. The updated internal electronics under the hood also likely provide more ability of the CFV back to take advantage of some of the quality enhancements delivered by Hasselblad's software Flexcolor, like improved ISO quality.
