I shoot mostly in studio with studio banks but bought the 550 when i bought the first 1D - I honestly never really used it and wonder if it is worth the upgrade to the 580... I'm also choosing between the Fong lightsphere and the harbor digital (great stuff in theory but i've never used it) as a diffuser...ideas? opinions? thanks in advance... michael_corcoran Posted September 13, 2007 Share Posted September 13, 2007 I have a Mark II and a Mark III and the new 580 II and older 580 and 550. I find the ex580 II to expose much more accurate then either other flash. The 550 is a blow out big flash and lots of light. for big distence, but for weddings and proper exposure the 580 II is the better choice Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
