david_altmann
id like to hear your recommendations for a good sunshade similar to the lee kompendium. what are the advantages disadvantages of a system with rails or without ? has anyone ever had vignetting because of an unintentionally moves sunshade ? i do not need more than one filter slot. i had a link to a company that makes a shade that looked quite interesting, but i lost it. if you can provide me some links to manufacturers and dealers (in europe pls) it would be fine. thanks, D. Ed_Ingold
The Hasselblad 4093T is an excellent choice, if you have an Hasselblad. Otherwise, you're on your own. I would think rails (that extend backwards from the front) would give more stability to the shade, as long as there is clearance with the lens and body. I use the 4093 rather than individual sun shades, whenever possible. Despite its clumsy appearance, it is stable and easy to use in the field. It also takes much less room in the bag than individual shades, and much more effective in shielding the lens. It will accept 100mm gel filters or 75mm square. The only filter I use regularly is a B60 B+W Polarizer.
david_altmann
im not using hasselblad, but mamiya rz 67 and canon digital systems. so a rectangular shape would be more helpful here. D. ps: what is the most useful size of gel (camera lens) filters ? 100x100 or 75x75 ?? the ones from kodak for example ?
Ed_Ingold
My general statements about compendium shades still apply. See http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/33524-REG/Mamiya_213376_G3_Bellows_Lens_Hood.html for a hood to fit your camera.
