Stephen Shore's Print

I visited Stephen Shore's exhibition at International Center of Photography

(ICP) New York.

Some of them are "pigment print on rag paper".

What is "pigment print on rag paper"?

Is this a kind of Digital Print?

From the description, I would say that it is a pigment based inkjet print, on cotton rag paper.

Yes it is, I read an article or blog post online about him moving over to digital printing, I cant seem to find it with google though. I remember the author saying that the prints had more contrast and saturation than the older traditional prints... I forget if they said they looked better or worse because of it.

yes he is printing now with a pigment inkjet printer.. I'm pretty sure it is an Epson. Shore thinks they look better and so do many critics -- the old C-prints fade quickly.

Mac Holbert at NashEditions.com has printed large format works for Shore. Holbert prints with IRIS and Epson printers and is also an Epson beta-tester.

I also saw the Stephen Shores exhibition at the ICP and enjoyed it very much. Everyone is correct in that they are digital prints. He mentions something about it in a conversation in the blog linked below.

He states, "On another note, I'm particularly interested in digital Type C printing for straight color photography. It allows me to control contrast and tonality both locally and globally in a way not possible with traditional Type C printing."
