gaetano catelli
way to soldier on, above and beyond the call of duty, Marc. i'd hang that photo in my studio - it would make a great marketing tool.
christiaan_phleger___honol
So Rad! Marc's tale gets my vote for wedding disaster story of the season. While I was reading the story, before I knew what happend, I was thinking that the fact that you were delayed in going to the outdoor location was significant. Sometimes just a few minutes plus or minus can make the difference. If you had left sooner, perhaps the group would have been in an even more exposed position. Last year we had, I'm not kidding you, you can look it up, 40 days+ of serious rain in the State of Hawaii. Non-stop.We had 3 weddings during that time, at locations that are known for heavy rains. A wee bit o' luck was with us, and for one outdoor ceremony it miraculously stopped raining for 18 hours before, enough time to dry out from drenched to merely lushly soaked. The other two we managed to time the brief outdoor shots in between deluges. As Marc has nobly demonstrated, take care of the couple the best you can, and always have a backup plan, and have an emergency backup plan. Gear can always be repaired or replaced, the health and safety of the couple is first and foremost.
