jay_frazier
Hello Ladies and Gents Ihave a Nikon FM This weekend I picked up an Quantaray 28 to 80 mm lens It's an automatic will this work on my Nikon FM got it at a yard sale real clean for only 15 bucks If it won't fit I'll try and sell it somehow P.S Thank You
sam_thompson2
It should work. Only Nikon lenses that won't work correctly are the G lenses and those designed for digital.

tonybeach
"Only Nikon lenses that won't work correctly are the G lenses and those designed for digital." Several Nikon film cameras are compatible with G lenses; although older ones that don't have a dial to control aperture cannot adjust the aperture (which includes the FM). radfordneal
This might be a "non-AI" lens. If so, it can be used on an FM, but be sure to move the AI coupling tab out of the way before trying to mount it! Also, you will have to use stop-down metering. Best to read the FM manual on this first...
todd peach seattle, washi
Forgive me for asking the obvious: is it a Nikon-mount lens? Quantaray is a house brand of Ritz that was typically sold in several different mounts. If it's a Nikon mount, it probably is marked something like "N/AI" near the mount. ShunCheung
As Todd points out, since Jay already has both the FM body and lens, why not just inspect the lens mount and determine whether it is a Nikon F mount lens first. If it is, you just need to guard against the lens potentially being non-AI. Try it on gentally and don't force the lens onto the camera.
