BrettPrucha
If you have any nearby beaches or ponds those could be good locations to consider. Their house could also be a good place. The family bedroom, the living room, or outdoor stairs. Much of it depends on how good of decorators they are, how good the natural lighting is, how big the rooms are and the amount of nick-knacks (junk) they leave lying around. Maybe they have a favorite family spot they like to visit. Give them suggestions on what types of locations you are looking for (backgrounds with certain color themes, soft light/hard light, etc.) and ask them to give you several suggestions. Then give yourself some time to scout them out and determine which ones if any match your vision of what you want the photo to look like. Without know your location or any other details not much else can be suggested.
