jukka1
Hello. Does anyone know is this Rolleiflex model any good? How big enlargements can be made from 100 asa bw film? What about colour film after scanning? What is value of this camera? I have possibility to buy this. Everything seems to be working. Sincerely, Jukka
mike_earussi1
All Xenar and Tessar lenses are excellent and tend to be best at f8, provided they're in good condition of course. As for how large, that's a matter of your personal taste and how far you stand back from the print.
geoff_mcauliffe
This is probably the best value Rolleiflex to get started with. The lens is excellent. The shutter will probably need a CLA (clean, lube, adjust) since the camera is 60 years old. The Rolleiflex is a beautiful piece of mechanics that will good care, can be left to your grandchildren. You will never heard anyone say "I'm sorry I bought a Rolleiflex TLR." Do a google search to determine value. A very nice example should be 100-200 US dollars, depending on condition. eric_hill2
Jukka, I've been using this exact model for about four years and have been thrilled with the results. I usually print 10x10 images on 11x14 paper, though I'm quite confident I could print a bit larger with acceptable results. I'm usually shooting Delta 400. I'd reccomend installing a modern focus screen - the original screen is very dark and a pain to use. And like the other users mentioned, you should also have the camera CLA'd. Hope this helps. jlkphoto
If the camera has been well taken care of you can get stunningly sharp photos. http://www.photo.net/photo/5284640
oskar_ojala
I have an MX-EVS with a Tessar. Excellent results, corners might be a bit soft with some apertures, but not a big deal for me. Largest I've printed myself was 40x50 cm, no problems there, except that the enlarger might have been better :-)
