Polaroid Back Help with Pentax 645

I am looking for a consultant to walk me through the proper setup of how to

load the NPC Polaroid Back onto a Pentax 645 camera. I have loaded the film

(Fuji FP-100C) inside the back, although I'm not sure, if I've done it

correctly and I have placed the back on the camera.

When I place the back on the camera it defaults to M 1000 on the top finder

display. The LED display inside the camera shows 1000 and F16. The display

inside the camera does not change when I switch the camera OFF the "A" setting

for F-stops.

Changing the mode button does not move the top LED display off M 1000, when the

lense is on the "A" position. I can see the shift when I press the Mode button

and the up or down arrow buttons, but it just shifts back to M 1000 regardless

to where I want it to be.

I am willing to pay for a collect call and consulting fee for someone to walk

me through how to get this polaroid back setup. I live in California, USA.

If you can help me get this thing resolved, could you please respond within

photo.net or email me at:

The M1000 is the setting that the P645 defaults to when the standard insert is removed from the body, or is mounted to the body, but has no film.. It would seem that your P645 body does not think that the NPC back is properly connected to the body, or that is does not have film. Carefully compare the way that your standard insert mounts with the way that your NPC back mounts. If you can see how the P645 body detects that it is loaded with film, you should be able to work around this problem.

Perhaps someone at Pentaxlife.com may know how to help you. Or a call to the Pentax 645 repair specialist at Pentax in Colorado. Let us know how it turns out.

I finally got around to taking my camera and polaroid back into a local Film shop and was told that there was nothing wrong with how I loaded the camera. The guy behind the counter took one exposure, pulled the white tab and everything started working (exposure meter, proper LED readouts, etc.).

The first film was no good as I had to open and close the camera several times to check my film loading setup. However, the rest of the exposures that I have taken appear to be spot on.
