zackojones
Greetings, I'm looking for a Canon P&S that uses the same battery as my Digital Rebel XT and supports RAW format. According to the Canon USA web site the following cameras use the same battery. Does anyone know if any of them support RAW format as well? PowerShot S30PowerShot S40PowerShot S45PowerShot S50PowerShot S60PowerShot S70PowerShot S80 Thanks in advance for your feedback -- I'm off to search google... charles_stobbs3
I have a PowerShot S30 and it does provide raw images. I don't use the camera a lot and have only just begun to try the raw format instead of jpg or TIF I have a Mac Emac with OS10 and the PowerShot came with OS9 software. As a result I have to convert the raw image (after some simple editing) to jpeg or TIF before I can import it into IPhoto or the older version of Photoshop that I have. Also I'm not sure if you can have raw as the default format or must go through the menu and select it each time you turn on the PowerShot.
andy_szeto
All the PowerShot S series cameras you mentioned above, except S80, support raw.
don_e
"I'm off to search google" Search dpreview.com instead. Use the "Features" or "Side-by-Side" tools. Canon has eliminated raw from its p&s lineup. The 70 was the last raw shooter of the S line, and the 6 of the G line.
zackojones
All, Thanks for the replies. I'm currently watching a few different cameras on Ebay so we'll see what happens. KEH as a couple as well that I may check into.
