RvdK
I've noticed the flash sync contact on the side of the D200 does not fire when I open the built-in flash. Is there a setting somewhere to change that?
frank_skomial
Get SB-800 and slide it into the camera hot shoe, this will force you to give up the built-in flash. The SB-800 has an auxiliary PC socket and this socket will always provide trigger short circuit and therefore will fire other flashes (or Pocket Wizards) connected by the cable, e.g. studio flashes. The socket only acts during exposure time, so any connectable via this socket flashes do not participate and are not affected by the pre-flases produced by SB-800 in the camera shoe. The PC socket on SB-800 will get disabled when SB-800 is removed from the camera shoe and is programmed as a remote flash in CLS system (another Nikon limitation - what a pity). RvdK
But I don't want to put a speedlight on the camera - I was using the built in flash to trigger another remote flash (SB-600). Darn, I really need to order some wireless eBay triggers to solve this I'm afraid...
