jay_frazier
HI Ladies and Gents As stated a couple a weeks ago I got a real nice FG-20 All my old gear is Pentax screw mount real clean spotmatic and sp 1000 I was on e.bay searching some lenses and seen this adapter It says you can use you're m42 screw mount lens on Nikon cameras Is this any good just wandering
tri-x1
Unless the adapter has a built-in lens, the pentax lenses won't focus to infinity. Usually you'll get better results with wide angle lenses because their depth of field keeps slight differences in lens-to-film distance from being a problem
steve_dawson1
AFAIK you can only mount M42 lenses on a Nikon camera by using an adaptor which contains one or more optical elements. A plain adaptor with no optics is not possible because the lens cannot physically be located close enough to the film. Inevitably lens performance is degraded. steve_dawson1
I posted at the same time as Wayne. His answer is actually more useful than mine because it makes the infinity focusing point.

mfophotos
Well, you may find an adapter, but really, why bother? If you have the nice lenses, get a more recent Pentax body with a 42mm to k-mount adapter. Smething like an ME Super would be the equivalent of an FG. In fact, a friend has a K100 DLSR and uses some nice old Takumars on it. Nikons are great cameras, but once you go there, be prepared to buy Nikon-mount lenses, as that's just the way it is.
