14mm 2.8l
Looks pretty sweet with it retro classic styling & with no built-in pop-up flash it qualifies as a "pro-body" ;^) Its June 1st, I wonder how the Hoya Pentax marriage turned out? personalphotos
Nice looking camera. At least they didn't make it gold plated this time! Re Pentax /Hoya news: http://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/news/Pentax_UK_confirms_Hoya_deal_news_122335.html and http://www.turkishpress.com/news.asp?id=178985&s=&i=&t=Hoya_to_launch_takeover_bid_for_Pentax_in_June Both pretty thin on the details everyone here would like to know. 'Imaging' at least gets a mention.
renatoa
I hope this one to be the best news I can give you: "After the completion of the Tender Offer, while considering methods for achieving full management integration, PENTAX will conduct its business as an independent legal entity and maintain its corporate name, and maintain and extend cross-divisional synergies. We plan to appoint officers from PENTAX to conduct its business, and the general manager of each division will be responsible for that division's operations (including employment) and earnings." http://www.japancorp.net/Article.Asp?Art_ID=14649
paul_noble
I WANT one!!! I always liked the styling and feel of the old Pentax cameras. This one reminds me of my first quality camera, a Pentax Spotmatic (which I still have, btw). I really think that they should re-consider and put it into production. The lack of built-in flash will probably hurt it in the consumer market, though, but I think that many serious amateurs and professionals wouldn't mind. thursday1
I'd buy it they made it. <br/> My have a K100d, but I still prefer my purely manual Pentax MX for style and feel. I would love to see Pentax make a "DX" a student's DSLR, remove all the scene modes and other consumer level features that don't belong in an dSLR, make it look like a classic SLR, and watch them sell.<br/> If Leica can do it with the M8, why has no other company tried? <br/> ~G
mountainvisions
The k10D is very much what you seek. no scene modes, lots of manual control. But I understand what you are saying. Something Like a K1000. No frills and manual. easy to learn on (because you have to learn) and cheap. essentially a sensor annd shutter.
