steve_levine
I think these subjects insult your $3,000.00 lens. That lens is designed for one thing, and brightly lit interior shots of parts isn't it.
elmarfudd
It may be sharp and contrasty, but you still have to focus it. ; )
fred_eagle
Ben - I'm interested in buying a shock absorber for a 1973 Cortina. Could you help in this? Please get on IM to discuss donkey.
jonathan_reynolds
Oh, come on, guys, let's not all wade in. One joke by Roland was funny, but what has Ben done to deserve such a string of sarcasm? He's impressed and pleased with his lens. I don't blame him. Enjoy it, Ben!

35mmdelux
what flash unit did you use?
35mmdelux
Ben, I own the 50mm/1.4 pre-asph late model and I find it remarkable. Yours no doubt will be even better. I could offer various examples of using the lens but allow me to try one... Shooting in a dark church with 100asa I took what I call a "hail mary" shot. In fact I took several because I was shooting in the 1/15 sec range and I thought camera blurr or underexposure would ruin my shot. I fully expected failure. To my astonishment the fotos turned out excellent, well exposed detail and all (I braced myself against a column). My suggestion to you is not to use flash in testing such a cutting edge lenses. The real trial of such lenses capability is without flash in the lowest light you can shoot. congrats -
fred_obturateur
It's an April's Fool with a 2-month delay innit? Ben took these "pictures" with a 7$ plastic camera. There's no way a 3000$ lens has been used for this.
ben_pincus
why april fool ? my post and the nature/quality of my pictures is no different from a million other similar posts that you find on these forums ???
