stemked
I do a lot of macro work and have even made my own macro brackets. They worked great with two 220T flashguns, but that's about as large as they can handle. Both of Pentax's new flash guns are too large for my needs. Are there any small third-party flashguns that are TTL that will work with the K10D? Another question, what about ringflash guns? I have the old 080C, but again it doesn't work TTL with the new Digital guns. Any new 3rd party options?
DWScott
I also wish that Pentax would introduce a P-TTL version of the AF220T. Until then, how about the AF200FG? No need to go third party, this is the cheapest P-TTL option out there. The only drawback is no bounce. http://www.ritzcamera.com/product/541615365.htm
pgavalis
I'm not quite sure if this is what you are looking for but I just picked up an AF280T and it's pretty compact for a flash. Works great.
andrewg_ny
The other AF-200FG drawback is relatively limited control. I'm also guessing based on the simple controls that it is missing many of the other advanced P-TTL features as well. I think Promaster has P-TTL adapters now too, I'm not sure how small their smallest compatible flash is.
renatoa
For macro I think this adapter is the smartest thing I ever seen: http://www.ringflash.cz/en_index_go.php Was designed to work with an external flash, but I am sure a DIY version can work as well with the camera builtin flash, is P-TTL, can be DIY, light, no batteries, what you want more ? andrew_ng7
A passive ring flash is really cool. Here's a better view of it that I found clicking the eShop button. <a><img src="http://www.ringflash.cz/produkty/prod_3.jpg" border="0"></a>
stemked
Canon and Nikon only. Sorry.
andrew_ng7
Actually, Canon only atm: <br><br> <i>"At present we are offering the adapter version for CANON Speedlite 580EX. We will be informing of other versions of the production program continuously. <b>The adapter for NIKON SB-800 will follow soon..</b>"</i><br> <br> No clue how up to date the site is though. renatoa
Sure, Nikanon only, and anyway it is designed for an external flash. My idea was for a DYI solution based on this design, using the builtin flash, not an external ;)
