kittybuddha
Does anyone know where I can find 4' X 8' foot foamcore to make bookends for my studio? I also need directions on how to make them once I get the foamcore. I've had a really difficult time finding information on this topic. Thanks
paul_sharratt
Depending on where you are located, framing shops carry large sheets of foam core but may be expensive. Here in the US, art supply shops will have it as may sign shops or plastic suppliers. check the yellow pages. You can also order it from places like setshop.com or do a web search. mark_schafer1
setshop, i'm sure you can just order a pack and they ship it. As for building: keep a little distance between the sheets, about 1/4" for the 1/4" thick foamcore (so they fold flat) and use wide gaffers tape to create a hinge as well some tape on the edges for better protection. We always use white tape on the white side (black on black, with black edges). cheers M
kittybuddha
Thanks, Paul & Mark. Setshop has foamcore but not 4' X 8'. I've done internet searches for this size before but can't find anything. Does anyone know if I can buy bookends that are pre-made?
kittybuddha
I found some! Here's the link if anyone's interested: http://www.tri-dee.com I found something called "Gator Board" that's sturdier than regular foam board & is white on one side & black on the other. Perfect!
