dave92029
I'm really glad that Canon is allowing their dealers to give us, the consumer, the rebate rather than force us to wait for the rebate company to pay us. I'm looking at getting a 50mm f1.4 due to the rebate. Prior to the rebate, legitimate dealers were selling this lens for just over $300+ plus shipping. Amazon.com appears to be selling this lens after the rebate for $266 delivered. Has Amazon made a mistake and given a double $25 rebate or is there some other reason this lens appears so cheap? I know when it comes to camera equipment if the price seems to be too good to be true it usually is, but Amazon is one of the suppliers I trust. Is $266 too good to be true or a great deal? Thanks in advance. Dave
beauh44
Hi Dave, I bought my 1Ds II through Amazon, no problems. They are a reputable dealer with nothing I'm aware of to worry about - as long as you buy the lens new from Amazon and not one of their affiliate sellers. Good luck! erictomenga
Amazon usually sells through a dealer. In my case electronics were handled by J&R Music World of NY. I just check Amazon and it lists this the lens for $291.90 free shipping with the following info... "$25 Instant Rebate: Purchase this product from Amazon.com and save $25 instantly. Price includes manufacturer's instant rebate. Plus, save up to $100 on select Canon lenses. Offer valid through July 16, 2007. See details." Other options was for $284 from adorama, also a reputable dealer. Sounds like a good deal.
William Kahn
KEH has them for $284, not including the $25 rebate.
