david_harris15
A great site for Nikon info is Mir. Here is a link to their info on the FG-20. http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/emfgfg20/fg20/index.htm I am pretty sure that it meters at full aperture & doesn't have a depth of field preview, but here is a link for a free manual download, which may have the answer. http://www.lensinc.net/manuals/NikonFG20L.pdf Welcome to the wonderful world of manual Nikons :)
bwcombs
That is a nice little camera. I believe the main difference between the FG-20 and its predecessor the FG is the absence of Program Mode. And it is a bit more compact and weighs less than the FG. You can find some good E Series lenses to match up with it and have a good kit. These lenses are still available on the used market at reasonable prices. Not the best glass that Nikon offered, but some in the line are very good. Like the 75-150mm E, the 100mm E, and the pancake-like 50mm f/1.8 E. In fact I just sold a 28mm f/2.8 E Series lens on ebay for a good friend, and it outsold another Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AI I had at the same time.) The link that the previous poster recommended is an excellent resource for Nikons of the past. You will have fun with this camera. Small, light and easy to use, with good image results. Good luck. jordan_w.
I have a Nikon FG and almost prefer it to my F90 (N90). It's lighter, quieter, more responsive, and more convenient to use. I second the recommendation for the 50mm and 100mm Series E lenses.
