sfh
Does such a thing exist? I want to be able to trip my 430EX from my alienbees, because I want to use it as a background light until I'm confident enough to add a third strobe to my kit. Any options? Matt Laur
You could try something like a Wein hotshoe slave, but at around $70, you're alrady putting a pretty good dent in the cost of an AB400. sfh
Thanks everyone, I'll give the eBay Special a try. Disappointing that Canon doesn't put it into the flash. It is such a small feature, they probably could of added it at a cost of like .50c per unit.
mark u
Beware of the gotcha: http://photonotes.org/articles/eos-flash/index2.html#slave "Hotshoe adapters aren?t always reliable with every camera and flash unit combination, so it?s worthwhile doing some testing first. In particular, a lot of people have reported problems with small optical slaves not being able to trigger Canon Speedlite flash units more than once without the flash being turned off and turned on again between each shot. The Ikelite Lite-Link is one device designed to work with Canon flash units that apparently does not have this problem." Unfortunately the Ikelite unit is only available second hand.
