fastshutter
Well i shot some more bikes. A little earlier in the day than last time. I got alot more speed and dof on these shots. when these guys are doing 20 or 30 mph I can get a good sharp shot. but when I get off three shots of a bike coming in a turn at 65 mph towards me or away, Only the first shot is sharp. This i think is a focusing problem now more then stopping the actoin. Is there a focusing mode you guys would suggest. Had some new guy come by and tried to show off for the camera. and laid his bike down doing 80 mph. He slide 120 ft. not good.<div></div>

dangoldman
Unless using a really good camera, if the subject is changing distance relative to the lens, the burst/motor drive is worthless. Keep it on motor drive, but dont hold the button down. Take the shot, and lift your finger half way so the focus is still engaged. Settle, and take the shot again. Always use servo or predictive focusing etc. On my camera i have set the exposure lock button on the back to focus. This will also engage the IS on lenses that have it. Very useful for moving objects.
mark u
Which camera are you using? Kind of important to know if you want specific advice!
