larry_huppert1
Does anyone know of an on-line, or computer program which will generate a sun angle chart given a Lat and Long and date?
This would be a useful reference for architectural work. larry_huppert1
Poking around the web a bit, I also found the follow site which has PC and Mac programs to provide this information:
http://www.energysoftware.com/
The software which can be downloaded from this site is shareware. It appears to provide a less precise set of information vs. the reference Ben posted above (only accounts for Lat - no consideration of Long or elevation). It still seems useful. stewart_ethier
For those who would prefer a hard copy, see the appendix of MichaelHarris' Architectural Photography (1st ed.) or ProfessionalArchitectural Photography (2nd ed.), available at amazon.com. It hascharts for various latitudes (0, 10, 20 degrees, etc.) so someinterpolation may be necessary, and it shows how to correct forlongitude, depending on where you are in your time zone. Very usefulindeed.
michael_taylor9
Does anyone remember the Sundicator? A pocket size dial guage used with a compass that will give you the exact angle of the sun at your location (or another for that matter) on any given day of the year. I am trying to get the rights to market it again, as I have learned that the originator has since died a few years ago. Great little device, no computers or batteries required!
