Photoimpact 12 - Why it does not work properly?

Recommended Posts

Just after installation of this software it refused to start. On the Ulead site

I found the information stating that on AMD based computers one library should

be renamed as it contains instructions specific for Intel processors. I did it,

and program started. Unfortunately some functions are still not available:

levels, histogram, unsharp mask, and probably many others which I didn't find so

far.

Any suggestions how to fix this problems?

Thanks in advance,

Jack.

Yes, I did, but technical support is limited only to registered users. I don't want to register now, as I'm not sure if I want this program.

As far as I know it does not like AMD. A list of bugs apearing in this configuration which I've found on Ulead forum is really long... :-(

I have installed this soft last week on my AMD Athlon 3000+ system and it works fine. Photoimpact doen't have the layer system as in Photoshop, but Photoimpact is easy to use and have powerful auto functions. You can even process raw files from most cameras and save them in many formats (Tiff, jpeg, etc). You can try to uninstall and install again.

Thanks, Jack. I've already done it several times, and it doesn't help.

I'm going to change my computer soon, so I'll probably buy one with Intel inside and so the problem will disappear - al least I hope... :-)
