kent_hustead
Would you please critique on my my first engagement albums/guestbook. How is the layout, flow, image selection, etc.? This is for a friend of mine as a gift for their wedding. Just need to make sure I am on the right track as far as design and composition before I start making many more albums. http://www.lawrencekphotography.com/albums/Steven_Jaclyn/index.html Thanks so much. heathero
Hey Kent! I think you did a good job with the general layout and selection of pics are really nice! I don't know if it just appears this way on screen... but I'd like to see the screened photos not screened back quite so much... they look a bit too faded out to me. But other than that I think its great! :-)
roxyandkaidotcom
Yeah, I don't get the faded thing either. Keep 'em at 100% and it'll make a huge improvement. Nice pics :)
mike simons
....Or is it that the 20% opacity photos are making way for this to be displayed at the wedding itself, such that guests can sign it? If so, nicely done, Kent. I like it. -mike
kevin wisdom
Kent, I think the pics look great. BTW, what software did you use to create that album? Thanks.
kristina_kendall
I like your photos. I agree with the opacity. The photos are really strong that i think you could up it a little with opacity.
kent_hustead
I made the some of the images opaque due to the fact that guests will be signing these pages. They are going to have 200+ guests at their wedding. They are going to need plenty of room. The album is going to be 7x7.
paul_sokal___dallas__tx
Kent, Haven't read the other posts so I'm not biased. Solid pics and gorgeous couple. As far as the design goes, the picture where he's holding the bat appears on my monitor to be an edge bleed with a drop shadow, which IMO looks bad. It may be that the edge just isn't showing up on the internet and it's really not a bleed. I don't like the way you've used reduced opacity. IMO it's good for backgrounds or images, like one you have, where they're looking away from the camera. Your images, with the exception noted above however look like they should be the primary image on the spreads and thus full opacity, IMO. And the green tint image would send me to the vomitorium. paul_sokal___dallas__tx
Kent, Why have people sign over your beautiful images? If you want more signature room, leave more blank space. Paul
kai_jones
i think they will love it.
jodi_schlosser
I love it! I design my guestbooks to be the same way. The opaque pages are a great use of space for the guests to write on. Good work! Jodi
