Hasselblad 501CM and 501C any difference ?

I am going to buy my first Hasselblad body. Could you tell me the difference between these bodies ? Do

they differ in price as well ?

the 501 CM has the bigger mirror which does not vignette the viewfinder image with long focal length lenses and in macrophotography. It is therefore strongly recommended and worth a price difference over the 501 C.

I thought the CM also had user replacable focusing screens?

They both do Gene. All Hasselblad bodies have the removable screen except for the 500c and 500el bodies.

Actually, with the 500c/500el you can still replace the focusing screens, but it takes a tad bit longer getting all 4 corners in proper focus. Maybe 20 minutes. Instead of simply dropping in a new screen on the newer bodies you need to take off 4 screws which are adjustable for the focusing. Pretty simple actually to do. Any hassy repairman such as our great David Ordess, a member here on this site, can fix anyone up with a bright screen.
