spenaloza
Please I need your help, I have a Nikon 80-400mm lens which I attach to D200 body, but I have noticed that the lens seems to be loose (no too much) to the body, my question is; can this affect the pictures I take or is this normal ?? I took some pictures in Taxco Mexico yesterday and they look OK to me, Have you had such an experince ?? Thanks a lot for your comments .
Rich B NYC
Salvador, What do you mean by loose? Is it front to back or rotational? A bit of rotational looseness shouldn't cause a problem. Front to back looseness could, in theory at least, change where the exact plane of focus falls. Since you say that it's not very loose and the results are ok, I wouldn't worry about it. However, you might want to verify that the screws on both the camera and lens mounts aren't loose. The vibrations caused by air travel have been known to loosen screws. Just be sure to use the correct screwdriver and don't apply more force than is necessary to test for looseness. As long as the screws don't turn, that's tight enough. spenaloza
Thanks for your reply, the rotation is at the back , I take your comment positive, I won?t worry. Best regards from sunny shiny Mexico //Spenaloza
mikeoday
Ah, I'm not sure. I have the 80-400mm on a D70 body. The connection with the camera is very firm, without any rotational movement. If there is movement of the lens relative to the camera then maybe you should get it checked out. Cheers Mike
