paul_smith33
Hello:Just received a very clean Nippon Kogaku Nikkor-Q 200mm/f4. Looks great, very clean and clear. Very smooth and tight. However the diaphram seems to be unresponsive, both on and off the camera body. What do you think? Sticky blades? Old dired up oil? Broken diaphram spring? Any ideas on a good place to go to fix the problem? Thanks for your thoughts.
claude_batmanghelidj
Hey Paul, These 200mm 4's are for sale all the time here in Japan, the AI versions, very cheap. If you need one let me know and I can probably get one and ship it to you. Cheers, Claude
oskar_ojala
Find some Nikon service center and take it there (or ship it if you live remotely), they will tell you and most likely fix it.
roger wielgus gallery
You should post here: http://forum.manualfocus.org/index.phpunder Maintenance & repairs. There are some members with great skill as regards lens repairing. It is also a good place to talk about manual focus lenses.Regards Roger
sjmurray
Hope you can get it fixed or pick up another one. I have an old "beater" 200 Q f4 and I am amazed at how sharp it is, especially at f4! I'll post an example.<div></div>
sjmurray
That was on a D70. I filed off some of the aperture ring to mount it on the D70, and it works fine.
