lifting leatherette

Problem is caused by expanding old adhesive layer. One thing you can do is peel up about 1/2" of leatherette, reverse-curl the edges to take the memory out of them. Then lightly run a fresh single edge razor blade across the old adhesive layer. Rub your finger over the layer and roll the adhesive up, separating it from the leatherette. Clean body surface and leatherette with (something like) denatured alcohol. Apply some brown rubber cement (Pliobond or Hobsco's "Goo") to both surfaces, allow to dry for a few minutes. Press together. About half of the OM-1 and OM-2 I service now have this condition. John www.zuiko.com
