www.withheart.ca
Hey there! I plan on offering my Bride and Grooms Azuka Albums. The Book Bound EX 10x10 Albums and a 7x7 version for the parents. I'm curious what people are able to sell these for. I've seen them for $800 for a 10x10 w/80 pages and $350 for a 7x7 30 page one. Is that high do you guys think? For those of you lving in the Seattle, WA area: What kind of response do people have to these albums? Do they prefer these over traditional? In addition to traditional? Well thanks very much for taking the time to respond. I appreciate it so very much! Michelle
ni_gentry
Those prices are relatively low. Or at least I've seen higher for those books. I've seen a lot of photographers charging $1000 or more for an 80-side 10x10" EX book.
Think of your time to design the book and all the images that go into it.
Depending on how fast you are, it could take you a half day to up to several days to design the book with your time valued at xx amount of dollars per hour.
Also, an 80 side book will almost certainly have over a hundred images. If you sold prints of those images at $10 per image (less than the average 8x10) that's a thousand bucks right there. Even at $5 per image... add that to your time... plus the cost of the book and you're over $800 (if you place enough value your time).
beth_dill
I live in Bellingham and all the photographer around here run at least 1000+ for 10x10's. So I'd imagine Seattle, being bigger and only a little over an hour away would be the same.
picturesque
By the way, Asuka is spelled with an "s", not a "z", in case you are mentioning them on your pricelist.
annealmasy
Pay close attention to what Ni said. Digital albums are about MUCH more than the printing and binding. The design time is a HUGE factor. If you're not yet aware of how much time it will take you to design an AsukaBook, then do a practice book. You'll likely find that you spend at least 10 hours on your first design. Make sure you price accordingly.
rob_s___san_francisco_bay_
My price for an 80-side Asukabook (10x10 EX) is just over $1000 and I still know that I'm priced too low.
www.withheart.ca
I always do that with the spelling. Thanks for the reminder :) And I was worried that $800 was too much to charge. Silly me, I guess I was way off there. WOW! $1000 huh?! Do you all have many people who purchase these digital coffee table books or do most of your clients opt for the formal ablums?
