jung_kook_paik
A quick question. Nikon F100. How is the part called that goes between the focusing screen and the pentaprism. It is a kind of a transparent screen that has 5 focusing marks on it. How can I get one? Mine has deep scratches and I have to replace it. Don't worry. I know how to do the job. Thanks. Ed_Ingold
Some things are best left to official Nikon Service. At least you know that part is replaceable, but not without considerable disassembly.

johnw63
Um...If you know how to do the job, how come you didn't know what it was called ? I had to ask.
jung_kook_paik
You can detach it without having to disassemble the whole thing. What you want to do is simply to press the tiny latch that fastens the plate after removing the focusing screen. The latch is located just behind the focusing screen latch. It takes only about five seconds if you have a good hand and a good tool. I am not a professional technician, but I have been taking pictures for more than 15 years, and in the meantime I came to know the some basics of the structure of my cameras. Now I am using three Cameras: Nikon F100, FA, Canon A-1. Thanks for your inquiries and suggestions.
