artistic illuminations
have a rebel Xt, 10-22mm, 18-55mm lenses. I shoot at sunset & up to 30 minutes past, low voltage (12V) landscape projects, homes, etc. See gallery, http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder? folder_id=artisticilluminations I need to purchase a close up , wide angle lens. I tried the 28/200 which was good but need to get closer. Also, if there is someone who can offer tips on sunset shooting using only the available light and trying not to photshop the pictures I would appreciate all comments. Thank you Tony Artistic Illuminations
alan_olander1664878205
I'm not sure what you mean "close up, wide angle lens". Do you mean you want to be close to your subject, but still have a wide enough field of view to get the whole thing in? You can't do that with your 10-22mm? klix
A very thin extension ring on a wide angle lens? Niikon has a K1 ring. Don't know about Canon.
jimstrutz
Or do you mean that you want to stand at a distance and make everything look closer? Which would mean that you want a longer than 200mm lens. This is going to be the opposite of wide angle though.
ronald_moravec1
Canon makes a nice 60 mm macro lens. Perfect for small sensor. For sunsets, I meter 2 or three diameters off the sun with i deg spot meter. Zooms do not make good close up lenses even if they focus close. Lenses are like cars, some are built for speed, some for comfort, trucks for cargo.
phule
Tony, I think you need to better define what you mean by "close up" and "wide angle"
jcuknz
Why work with one hand tied behind your back by ignoring what editing can do to compliment your camera work. Until you get your wider-angle lens you can always stitch two or more photos together in editing [ not a stitch programme] to get a wider view than anything except a bug-eye lens.
