dreamspy1
Hi I'm planning to order a MP-E 5x macro lens from bhphotovideo. I'm wondering what tripod I should take with it? I have a good focusing rail, and need a sturdy tripod, but not to big though. Any recommendations? regards Frímann
ralph_jensen
Depends what you shoot and how much you're willing to spend. The Gitzo 2227 (http://luminous-landscape.com/reviews/accessories/gitzo-2227.shtml) is a good choice for macro contortions in the field, but any carbon-fiber tripod will have a good weight/sturdiness ratio, albeit at a high price. dreamspy1
Gitzo 2227 looks pretty good, especially since I would like to use this tripod also for large format. But I cant find this tripod anywhere, not on bhphotovideo, and not on ebay either. Has it been replaced? regards Frí¡nn
wgpinc
The gitzo 2227 has been discintinued and replaced by the G2257 which may be a better tripod. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=2636&A=details&Q=&sku=410285&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation Good luck.
