on rating (not about 3s etc)

I've been trying to find a way of rating photos, that I find whilst browsing,

anonymously.

If you click into a photo you get the rate option but it leaves your name and

the only way I've been able to find is to catch a photo on the 'rate photos'

section. This is all well and good if it is a recent entry, but what about one

that is a month/year etc old.

Is there a way around this? cheers, Rob

so you would rate the same image different given the choice of anonimity vs personal?

 

or would not rate at all if under your own name?

thats not really an answer, I'm not here to debate the joys of the rating system, but to answer - I would rate exactly the same, I just don't want there to be a reason for people to come back and rate me highly because I have enjoyed their picture.

I critique as much as I rate, but at times I want to just trawl the site. But the negative side of it that you hinted at answers the question of why I can't find an option to do so.

really i find only one strange flaw in rating system<br>

it is the strange denial of 1s & 2s ;)<br>

sometimes people rate personally as an invitation<br>

but feeling obliged to back rate same highs is too easy<br>

i just do not rate at all if i do not like their work<br>

(is it terribly incorrect too? ;)

Anonymous rating cannot be done on the basis of user choice. It's determined by where you rate an image (via the "rate recent" queue).

thanks guys, as I say, this wasn't to debate the system but rather just for infomation. All good, thanks for the comments.

 

And Ian, heh, I do the same, if I cannot add anything constructive I don't rate.

Suggestion - why not make the anonymous idea to be limited for say 72 hours (3 days) and then be automatically changed and can be viewed by the name of the one who voted ?
